Medusa is an independent craft beer and wine bar in Lima, Peru, known for its character, atmosphere, and slightly hidden location.
Rather than competing with polished hospitality brands, the goal was to create an identity that embraced the bar's personality—something distinctive, intriguing, and a little unconventional.
The Challenge:
Many hospitality brands rely on polished aesthetics and predictable visual cues to attract customers.
The challenge was creating an identity that celebrated Medusa's independent spirit while reflecting the mystery and charm of a venue tucked away from the main streets.
The brand needed to feel memorable, authentic, and slightly unexpected.
The Approach:
At the heart of the identity is a bespoke jellyfish illustration inspired by the venue's character and reputation.
Like the bar itself, the jellyfish is intriguing, elusive, and slightly misunderstood.
This central motif became the foundation for a visual language that balanced personality, curiosity, and atmosphere, helping create a brand that felt both distinctive and ownable.
The Outcome:
The result is a characterful identity that embraces the unique qualities of the venue rather than disguising them.
The brand gives Medusa a recognisable visual presence while reinforcing the sense of discovery, individuality, and charm that makes the experience memorable.
